The mountain above the city
Tianmen Mountain rises directly above Zhangjiajie city. One of the world’s longest cable cars carries you from the city centre to the summit in about half an hour.
At the top, walkways fixed to the cliff circle the peak, including glass sections with a long view down. The 999 steps up to Heaven’s Gate are the classic finish.
