The best time to visit

Mist, crowds and weather, season by season.
Wide view over the Wulingyuan valley

Spring, April to June

Green, misty and atmospheric. The famous cloud sea is most common in spring, and light rain is part of the experience.

Summer, July and August

Warm, humid and busy with domestic holidays. Early starts make a big difference.

Autumn, September to November

Clearer skies, cooler days and autumn colour. Avoid the first week of October, a national holiday.

Winter, December to March

Quiet and cold, with occasional snow on the pillars. Some routes may close in ice.
